Biographical

I began my career as a labor arbitrator in 1993. Since 2002, I have been a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators. Prior to becoming a full-time labor arbitrator in 2015, I worked as a Senior Administrative Hearing Officer for the State of Ohio,  where I adjudicated several thousand disputes between claimants and employers in contested unemployment compensation cases. I also determined whether bargaining unit employees who were out of work due to a labor dispute were entitled to unemployment benefits under Ohio law. As a mediator for the Ohio Court of Appeals, I mediated workers’ compensation permanent total disability appeals, including cases involving self-insured employers.

My hourly rate for mediation is $350.00, with a four-hour minimum.

I require payment in advance for my minimum fee at least 14 days prior to the hearing. If the hearing is cancelled, I will retain the deposit as a cancellation fee. The fee of $1400.00 can be paid by one party or can be divided between the parties.

I request the parties to file prehearing briefs at least 7 days before the hearing. The briefs should contain a factual summary and a statement of the position of each party.
